Does anyone have a theory as to why Jeanine Tesori used the 'Baba O'Riley' theme by The Who (ua-cam.com/video/x2KRpRMSu4g/v-deo.html) as a basis for the song? She actually says that it's The Who in this interview, so it's no coincidence: ua-cam.com/video/kE1aLPGgAUo/v-deo.html The timing is correct, I believe the story of young Alison takes place around the beginning of the '70s, and Baba O'Riley was released in '71. But I can't believe that it's only that, there has to be more reason to include it in this song specifically. You also have the 'I Want You Back' guitar theme by The Jackson 5 in 'Come to the Fun Home', but that makes more sense as something the kids would use as an inspiration. So, anyone got any theories? Something about a Teenage Wasteland?
